Gas Turbine Transport After The Earthquake

June 3th, 2008. DEC Launches its first Gas Turbine transport with a 3 files hydraulic modular trailer, produced by Hubei Tiandi Heavy duty Industrial Group, after being stopped on its journey by the The Wenchuan Earthquake happened in May 12th, 2008, Sichuan Province, West China.

The Gas Turbine is 13.8m length, 5.8m width, 5.6m height, and 380t weight, costs 270 million RMB. When the "5.12" earthquake happened, It was just on its journey to the Leshan Port, where the ship will take it to Putian, Fujian Province, South East China. After the first worst 8.0 magnitude earthquake finished, the 380t Gas Turbine still tightly sat on the hydraulic modular trailer, since to the trailer's excellent hydraulic platform balance system. Concerning about the road and bridges in front may be destroyed during the earthquake, the Gas Turbine was stopped in the Huaqiao toll station nearby. After finish nearly two weeks' inspecition of 144 bridges and fix 9 hidden troubles of the road and bridges, the 380t Gas Turbine starts its journey again.

DEC is one of the worst hit enterprise in the "5.12" earthquake. Thousands of workers were injoured and dead, Almost all the infrastructures were totally destroyed. The direct ecnomic losses have reached over 5 billion RMB. However, the re-launch of the 380t Gas Turbine shows the world an un-clobbered DEC and also shows DEC's steady confidence of recovery from the disaster.
